Our associate partner Cluster Pulse is an NGO : www.clusterpulse.org
We are working in 2 clusters in Afghanistan : Dried Fruit & Nut cluster & Carpet cluster through OTF Group , USA : www.otfgroup.com.
Cluster Pulse , a NGO is a non- profit , professionally managed , self-sustaining , autonomous institution with excellence in implementation of Cluster Development initiatives as its main objective through the twin approach of market intervention first & then technology upgradation in SME’s . It has been working in 42 clusters of USAID , UNIDO-CDP , Ministry Of Textiles & Ministry Of Small Scale Industry in India & abroad since the year 2001.
Cluster Pulse’s core activity is implementation of cluster development program by way of both backward linkage & forward linkage.
In this short span we have formed 63 Consortia’s in 42 clusters , generated savings of US$ 11Million on joint purchase through bulk negotiations & import sourcing , generated export orders worth US$ 162 million through business delegation visits abroad , trained 6900 + companies on exports & CDP , trained several CDA’s & recovered US$ 6 Million of bad debts through association action plan.
Cluster Pulse's strategies take advantage of clusters efficiency, flow of information, economies of scale and innovation potential. Governments have different tools to work with clusters: from simple observation to change management.
Consortia Approach : Our main focus is to directly connect Afghanistan industry & businesses to the world’s major markets.
To do so effectively, we motivate cluster companies to group into consortia of producers. By forming consortia, they offer international buyers a wide selection of sector focused products, and are able to effectively meet large quantity orders. They also pool their individual years of experience, to guarantee buyers a reliable supply of top quality products.
The consortia share in common a strong market orientation, a commitment to their customers, and a careful eye for quality. They have standardized raw material purchasing and production processes, and follow a joint marketing model. Each consortia has a professional manager who runs its operations and liaises with its customers. They collectively commit to supplying only the highest quality products .
