The Ministry is committed to the development of the formal economy and driving the process of formalization in Afghanistan. The overall objective is to promote sound business practices consistent with international standards and to enable a business environment in which a competitive private sector can develop and thrive, at the same time ensuring increased revenue for the government.

The MoC is determined to increase Afghan exports. The new Export Promotion Centre of Afghanistan ( EPCA ) - an executive agency of the Ministry - has a key role in achieving this important goal.

EPCA : Export Promotion Centre of Afghanistan
( Ministry of Commerce & Industries, Govt. Of Afghanistan ) 

EPCA was founded in 2006 based on an agreement between the Afghan Ministry of Commerce & Industries and the German Technical Cooperation Program (GTZ). EPCA serves as a “first-stop shop” for export service deliveries for Afghan exporters and as the center of an on- and offshore network of export related services such as foreign business associations, Afghan commercial attaches, BDS providers, financial institutions and many others. 

EPCA provides services with importance for exporters:

  • Gathering & distribution of information on key export markets;
  • Export markets consultancy and assistance services for key export sectors, incl. facilitation of participation of Afghan exporters in international trade fairs and trade missions;
  • One-stop-shop for export forms & procedures;
  • Training on important export issues (e.g. markets, procedures, transport, finance, etc.);
  • Advise of government institutions on export policies and legislation;
  • Networking with key partner institutions and organizations in Afghanistan (on shore) and abroad (off shore).
German Technical Co operation

Afghanistan is a priority partner country for German Development Cooperation which is directed by the German Federal Ministry of Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ). On behalf of BMZ the German Technical Cooperation supports the development of EPCA. This initiative forms part of a comprehensive program to support economic development in Afghanistan.

Is a brand name registered in India as a joint venture partnership between the Kabul Fruit & Nut Consortia ( KFNC ) of Afghanistan and Hind Superstore of Ahmedabad , Gujarat – INDIA.

The brand was launched during the DIWALI festival of 2006 in India with a grand success. The Kabuliwala Hind branded products were available in all leading chain stores in India as well as lapped up in a big way by the CORPORATES in India as a gift pack for DIWALI gifting.

The partnership has made firm plans to open a warehouse , packing centre , distribution centre & a marketing office in New Delhi , Mumbai & Ahmedabad in January 2007.
